This was filed all the way back in 2016 and was granted in 2020, so it’s been a while.
FIGs 1-3 show this Yeezy-esque shoe. I can’t tell if I love it or hate it.
FIG. 4 shows the components, including the sole, inside liner, two tongue pieces 3b1/3b2, and heel 8. We want to focus on the tongue and heel.
FIG. 5 shows it in tight-mode, FIG. 6 shows it in loose mode. It’s important to note these two images show transparency with the dotted lines (steel cords) and the racks 9a/b being inside the shoe itself.
Note the upper and lower cords are NOT connected to one another.
FIG. 7 shows the important dangles (this is not transparent). While FIG. 8 is the same thing, but transparent. We’ve got two dials, 7 and 10. Dial 7 is an allen key and 10 is a hand-dial. Each one is attached to a rack, which are attached to their respective cords.
Long story short, you can tighten dial 7 to tighten the lower part of the shoe and dial 10 to tighten the upper part of the shoe. I imagine the allen is an allen because you don’t mess with it once it’s set?
To release the tension on dial 10, you just push the button 11 (FIG. 1)
Has anyone seen this design? Maybe this was licensed to someone else? Maybe they bailed on the shoe market? Maybe it’ll be released soon? Maybe this didn’t actually work in reality? Maybe idk wtf I’m talking about? Who knows.
